JOB DECRIPTION
Bath School of Art, Film & Media is seeking a talented, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Lecturer in
Photography with exceptional organisational skills and a commitment to innovative teaching and
learning to join a team of academics to deliver, coordinate and evolve our modules.


ABOUT THE ROLE
As Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Photography, you will be dedicated to delivering exceptional teaching
and assessment, supporting the academic strategy of the School. Your role will involve fostering
pedagogical innovation, contributing to curriculum development, and engaging in research to
enhance the student experience. You will collaborate within internal and external networks, actively
participating in relevant academic communities, whilst ensuring compliance with internal processes
and guidelines. In addition, you will have administrative duties and will actively contribute to
recruitment, publicity, and promotional activities benefiting the School and University. This role
offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to various professional responsibilities, making an

ABOUT YOU
You will have in-depth industry knowledge and experience of professional photographic practice.
You will bring recent, successful experience in teaching at the university level along with a strong
background in professional industry practice that enhances teaching methods. Your role will involve
course administration, requiring coordination skills and a strong understanding of Photography. In
addition, you will have established and open connections in the photography and creative sector
that may benefit the student experience and graduate outcomes. You will also excel in pedagogic
innovation, possess outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, and be a determined
problem-solver. Proficiency in ICT and e-learning tools are crucial, alongside a commitment to on-
campus teaching, recruitment, and participation in outreach events. Having a student-centered
approach, proactive attitude, flexibility, and a strong commitment to collaborative teamwork are
essential within this role.

Applicants with less than five years teaching experience in Higher Education of at least 0.8 FTE or
equivalent who do not hold a Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Certificate accredited by
the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or HEA fellowship will be required to complete an approved
Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education course during the first two years of employment.
